Got Kids?

Hey Everyone!

Well if you have kids, like me, you’ve probably experienced the tears and tantrums that come along with the word “haircut”.  Kids hate to sit perfectly still for a second, let alone have someone poking at their bangs with scissors…  for some reason… this isn’t fun to them?  Not anymore my friends… 

A few weeks ago a friend tipped me off about a new place that opened on Hazeldean rd. in Kanata called Goobers kids hair salon and spa.  It’s brilliant.  You walk in and there are toys, computers to play on, race cars and jeeps to sit in for your cut and the big kids even get to play video games while they get their haircuts.  In the back is the “Me Spa” … this is where the princesses live.  You can get makeup, updos, manicures, pedicures, have spa parties with your friends or a ‘mommy and me’ spa day with your kids. I took my girls there for cuts and they didn’t want to leave.  My 2 year old sat perfectly still like such a big girl throughout her cut, sitting in her pink convertible, and my 5 year old sat playing video games while they layered her hair..  J   She felt so grown up and looked more grown up than when mommy attempts to carve a crooked line through her bangs at home L  I wasn’t meant to cut hair.

Tomorrow I’m going to take you inside the Diefenbunker Cold War Museum in Carp.  This is such an interesting and historic place and I’ve actually never been, so we’ll experience it together! 

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day and on ‘A’ News we will have a special live broadcast called “We Remember” broadcast live from the National War Memorial at 10:30am leading up to the National Remembrance Day Service at 11am.  So, keep it tuned to ‘A’ for the entire morning as we remember those who fought and those who lost their lives, so we could all live the way that we do today.
