Weekend Host

Angie is a hometown girl born and raised in the nation's capital.  Angie got her start in television right after graduating from Algonquin College’s Broadcasting program.  She was first hired on as Creative Services Producer for The New RO in 1999, working out of the Pembroke Station.  A short time later she secured a position with the Creative Services team in Ottawa and made her move back to her hometown.

Angie worked for several years behind the camera before stepping into the spotlight, joining the news team as Entertainment and Weather Specialist in 2001.

Just two years later, she moved from the evening news to join the morning show as the live-on-location co-host.

As the live eye reporter Angie takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of our city each and every morning highlighting the people and places that make Ottawa so unique.

Education:

  • Studied Journalism and Mass Communications/Carleton University.
  • Television Broadcasting Diploma/Algonquin College.
Extracurricular:

Angie is involved with many charities through emceeing and taking part in local events and fundraisers.  As a mother of two, she places a special focus on children’s charities.

Angie is also always up for a challenge and has tested her bravery by bungee jumping, barefoot waterskiing and playing competitive rugby.

What I love about my job:

“Is this work that I’m doing here?  It really amazes me that I get to be paid for what I love to do.  I’m living the dream!  This job affords me the opportunity to explore my hometown and check out everything that is new, interesting, newsworthy, and important to our viewers.  I get to take the viewers right into the experience by trying new things hands-on.  We have faithful viewers and entire families who open up their homes to us every morning and it’s nice to know that daily we can keep you all entertained, regardless of age.  You tell us your kids dance with us, you try our recipes, we keep you informed and we keep you laughing.  That’s a great gift wrapped up in a big red bow.
